Wings Track & Field Invitational Meet 2008

On the 14th of June 2008, at Choa Chu Kang stadium, under the blazing sun, our athletics pitted their prowess against athletics all over Singapore, ranging from national athletics superstars to humble secondary school students, in the 2008 Wings Invitation Friendly Meet.

Throughout the day, our athletes went through up and downs, joys and disappointments. Many personal best were broken, like mighty Ramanan smashing his PB by 4m, new kid on the block Zach with an astounding 22.1m first time. Emerging mid distance star Leo, chopping off more than 15secs of his PB, and speedy James, coming in first in his race with a time of 53.3s. Not to mention our 4x100m guys team who stormed the finishing line as champions of their race with a time of 44.6s. We would like to cheer our new girls like Aisha and Sage for their excellent brave performance for their 100m race.

However, with joys comes with tears and sweat. We would like to encourage those who didn't perform well to not lose faith and training hard for their next competition, for it is in failure that you learn important lessons you will never learn if you had succeeded.

Finally, we would like to thank:

Mr. Melvin Tan, President of Wings Athletics Club for extending their invitation to us.

Our coaches: Coach Paul for contacting wings and getting us a place in this Competition. Coach Pandian, Coach Paul, Coach Robin, and Coach Shathik for sacrificing their invaluable time, and always putting in their 110% effort for our training.

Lastly to Boon Ping, Poh Leong, Pei Yi, Mark, and Andrew, for coming down to help out in the competition, your aid and support were paramount to our performance.
